Family Nature of Business
Monoplex Eye Prosthetics and Studley Ocular Labs are both owned by Peter J. Kazanovicz, B.C.O.
Peter’s daughter Lindsey is currently in training to become a Board Certified Ocularist and has grown up in the business of making artificial eyes.
Recently Peter’s son Christopher joined the family business and has also been surrounded by the eye making processes his whole life. Peter’s wife Michelle and his two youngest children, Zachary and Stephen have all spent time in the office providing support for the business.
For the rest of the staff, Monoplex and Studley feel like family as well. Lorraine and Helen have both been with company for decades and Michelle , our newest member completes the family feel.
Monoplex Eye Prosthetics and Studley Ocular Labs have been pillars in the artificial eye community for decades.
Monoplex Eye Prosthetics was originally established in the 1940’s as part of American Optical Corporation located in Southbridge, MA, American Optical and the Monoplex division were innovators in the plastic ocular prosthetic field. The methods and processes they developed over 75 years ago are still used today. American Optical trained many Ocularists who still practice today including Peter J. Kazanovicz, the current owner of Monoplex Eye Prosthetics. “I am proud to use the methods I learned during my training at American Optical. They were true pioneers in the development and fabrication of the plastic artificial eye. I have seen patients who still have their original American Optical eye and I can see attention to detail which was and still is what sets Monoplex Eye Prosthetics apart.”
Studley Ocular Labs has been serving New Hampshire and Southern Maine since the early 1960‘s. When Peter took over the business from Isabel Studley in 1991 he continued to provided patients with the high level of care they were accustomed to while adding his own personal touch and the expertise he received while with American Optical.
Today Monoplex Eye Prosthetics and Studley Ocular Labs work together to provide each and every patient with a custom ocular prosthetic made from the highest quality materials within a compassionate, trusting and understanding environment.
